Wireless with ASUS USB-N10 NANO on OS X 10.6 – 10.12

I can confirm ASUS USB-N10 NANO USB wireless adapter work on all OS X versions from 10.6.8 till 10.12.3 on Hackintosh computers. No bugs detected for now, using it mostly on latest version of OS X Sierra (10.12.3).

This little USB Wireless adapter uses Realtek RTL 8188/8192 chipset, the driver, or kext if u wish, is available at official ASUS website here -> ASUS USB-N10 NANO Drivers. Probably  driver can be found at Realtek site for  RTL 8188/8192 chipsets as well, but since everything works with default ASUS drivers I didn’t search for it.

Asus

This computer was bought from a local store as a finished build configuration for less than 500 Euros.  I didn’t intend to create Hackintosh so I didn’t care about components at first, but computer had a some kind of BIOS error and I couldn’t shutdown from ubuntu 12.04, than I tried Ubuntu 10.04 with the same result. After that I tried Windows 7 and computer was still unable to shutdown.

Then I read on some forum that fix is to put out and back BIOS battery. And voila computer was able to shutdown like normal. Interesting thing is that this happened on a new mainboard, with the default BIOS settings… so I asume it’s a some kind of Asus mainboard bug. ga_z77_ds3h

GA Z77-DS3H is quite good and not so expensive mainboard for Hackintosh systems running Os X 10.7 or later. It’s not OOB since you will need to add and remove some kexts to make it fully functional + set up your bios. This new generation of  motherboard uses UEFI Bios so DSDT.aml in not needed anymore. All you will need is a few extra kexts for your Network, Audio and Serial-ATA interface… Also this tutorial includes setup for Nvidia GTX 650 graphics card, which is used instead of default CPU’s  Intel HD 2500 graphics.
